A small lush settlement 7 kms from Sitia. Its name probably comes from the Turkish word "sou" which means "water" as the village was built next to the well-known spring of Zou. Just before entering the village you can see the remains of a Minoan farm dwelling which was excavated by N. Platon in 1955.
