This small picturesque village has a population of about 80. It is 4 kms from Sitia to the east of Piskokefalo on the Ierapetra road. Minoan tombs with interesting artefacts have been found in the surrounding area. Its historical significance is proved by the fact that it is mentioned in both Venetian and Turkish censuses.
